APPLEDORE BOOK FESTIVAL |
Every year from the last Saturday in September to the first Sunday in October the picturesque fishing village of Appledore in North Devon is the venue for Britain’s most exciting book festival. Big-name authors and nationally known speakers give talks and there are shows and performances for all ages. Each year the festival gets bigger and this year it will feature over 70 events. The festival is unusual in its commitment to innovation, and because it is sustained almost entirely by volunteers based in the community. Every year there is a publicity event in the early summer to launch the brochure. In 2009 the recreation of the Great Panjandrum a top secret weapon of 1944 received world-wide publicity. |
The final edit from a project led by Seize the Moment and Artaura Productions. For Appledore Visual Arts Festival and funded by Local Network Fund.
Starring and edited by many young people from the Torridge area of North Devon.
