| HARTLAND ABBEY | HARTLAND POINT | HARTLAND POINT LIGHTHOUSE |
|
Hartland is a small village, with an 18th century house, Hartland Abbey, which was originally a college in the 12th century. Keep going to visit Stoke, with Hartland's 14th century church and its dramatic 128ft tower. Perhaps the real reason for coming this way is to follow the signs to Hartland Quay. The cliffs are amazing and even more sensational in a rough sea. There is a hotel for shelter on the quay! foods not bad either. In the summer try walking to Speke's Mill Mouth, the waterfall gushing down the cliff about one mile south along the cliff path. Good dramatic walks in any direction over the cliffs, but take care on the paths. |
