| Tour Devon is here to promote my love for North Devon. It is the Jewel in England's Crown. Everything a visitor or local could want, from top hotels to camp sites and cottages available in some of the most beautiful surroundings. Over a relatively short coastline you can find towering cliffs and rocky shores and miles of golden sand. Whether sunbathing, surfing, exploring the rock pools or simply playing on the beach, you can have a relaxed and happy time .Wildlife in abundance, Dolphins, porpoise and seals are frequently seen along the coast. Easy parking most of the time, a wide selection of foods from all parts of the world in restaurants and take-away's (not forgetting the legendary Devon Cream tea). For the shoppers the range is huge and varied, modern shopping centre's, quaint villages, farmers, indoor and open-air markets. Superstores to tiny specialists. For the energetic, miles of cycling and rambling through countryside or along cliff tops. Game, course and sea fishing. Leisure centre's and gymnasiums, go karting and paint ball, horse riding and carriage driving to name but a few of the things available and all within easy reach. You can take Leisurely cruises along the coast , an hour, half day or day trip boat fishing or go for a day out on Lundy island. Throughout the summer there are frequent trips to South Wales aboard the Waverley or Balmoral or you could charter a boat for that special cruise. The choice is yours. The natural beauty of the North Devon countryside is obvious and examples of this can be seen in our Gallery.Numerous theatres and Cinemas and very social bars, clubs and pubs (most are family orientated) Something for everyone to enjoy. Our welcome is warm and friendly for individuals or families. Our accommodation first class and varied. Top class Hotels, Bed and Breakfast, Camping, Caravan or holiday parks, we have them all. One thing that is very rare is the violence on the streets found in many other places. Life is slower here, people have time for each other and this leads to a quality of life not found in many places. Add to all of this a climate that is consistently warmer than any other part of the UK. The second highest tidal range in the world (over 10 metres at times) and everything is ready for your day trip or longer holiday. In the tradition of the Town Crier, Tour Devon is here to give you News and information. If you are unable to find what you want then PLEASE do get in touch. We will be happy to do all we can to find the information you are looking for. You can contact us by e-mail admin@tour-devon.com OR telephone 01271 831296 or Text 07833 998437 (44 in place of 0 if calling or sending from outside the UK) We would like to include your town or village please let us have the information/photographs we can use - inclusion is FREE I am trying to trace the history of Charles Lower Buckingham and family who was married to Elizabeth Davie (one of the 13 children of the family that lived in the house on Lantern Hill Ilfracombe). He drowned with 13 others when the yacht Monarch sank off the tunnels beaches. If you can add any information about either the Buckingham or Davie families past or present please get in touch I am also trying to discover how and why John Reeves drowned of Lundy island on 28th July 1843 - any information about this incident would be appreciated. Do you know of a good farm shop or market or have you a recommendation for a shop or market in North Devon. If you do then please let me know the details Is your club, group or organisation the best in North Devon? Yes? Let us know about it. Do you have a business in North Devon or one that serves North Devon? Is it good enough to be added to this site. If you think it is then let us have the details. If we agree with you then we will add it to the site. click here for few ways that you can contact us MANY LOCAL AND NATIONAL GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS GREATLY ASSIST AT MANY EVENTS IN THIS AND OTHER AREAS HERE ARE LINKS TO THE SITES FOR JUST A FEW OF THESE UNSUNG HEROES

A fire can start very easily and can spread with frightening speed. Every year there are more than 68,000 fires in people's homes, resulting in 400 deaths and 14,000 injuries. The information on the home safety site will help you to understand the risks in your home and take steps to protect those who live in it. . |
